Is motorcycle riding worth the risk

by

The question/statement was asked:

Ride or die: Is motorcycle riding worth the risk many may ponder

This is a story that I'm proud to say that an IAR member wrote. It's also a question that I have been asked several times by my friends.

And I responded:

"Motorcycle riding is FUN! Driving a car is FUN! Driving a truck is FUN! When driving, anyone can have a wreck and be possibly killed.

Motorcycle riding is different in many ways: Riders got to know how to handle your bike. This is not a bicycle your riding through the local neighborhood. It's truly an awesome machine that requires skills and training to ride and to stay alive.

Car and truck drivers - PAY ATTENTION!!!!
Your not the only ones that deserve to be on the road. You got to give bikers their space.
Don't tailgate like you do cars. Don't get in our lane - we didn't invite you in. LOOK FOR US too, when making those lane changes and coming out of blind spots. Motorcycles are quicker than cars/trucks, however we are also less protected. So, give us room and more time before entering our path.

ALL RIDERS: You got to respect others on the road also. The streets - no place to speed/STUNT, use a track for that. YOU GOT TO LOOK OUT FOR OTHERS/YOURSELF. DON'T OVERDO IT!"

Most are trying to keep up with other riders who are breaking the law by speeding.
Most justdid not have enough experience riding in rush traffic and mostly at intersections.
Some never saw it coming due to someone else ...

I agree. We have to be responsible for ourselves out there. Our risk riding a motorcycle is just as high as the feeling we get when we are on one. Be safe out there family..
